Psalm of Thanksgiving for my Grandchildren

,

My eyes look up toward the sky, O Lord

As I thank you for all you have given.

The sun caresses my face with warmth

Reminding me of your love that warms my heart.

Praise you, my God, for you are love.

My eyes close as I think of precious gifts

Given to me by you to be enjoyed.

Gifts that bring warmth to my heart

And light to my eyes, a smile to my lips

Reminding me of your love that warms my heart.

Praise you, my God, for you are love.

My eyes are laughing as I think of the first gift.

His eyes were big and blue so beautiful

He flew through the air as I carried him

Truly a wonderful guy, my first grandson

Who reminded me of your love.

Praise you, my God, for you are love.

My eyes twinkle as I think of number two.

His eyes were bigger and blue, so beautiful

He was smaller than the first but not for long.

He was a little man, my second grandson

Who reminded me of your love.

Praise you, my God, for you are love.

My eyes smile as I consider number three

His eyes were big and blue so beautiful

I witnessed his birth and his head of hair

He was called by his name, my third grandson

Who reminded me of your love.

Praise you, my God, for you are love.

My eyes widen in surprise as she comes to mind

Her eyes were big and blue so beautiful

I was there to see the gift of a girl emerge

She had come to join the boys, my granddaughter

Who reminded me of your love.

Praise you, my God, for you are love.

My eyes close again as I am humbled by your gifts, O Lord.

You are the Lord Almighty who gifted me

And it was your pleasure to do so.

You do it all to remind me that You are love and

It is because of You I can love.

Praise you, my God, for sharing yourself with me

In the greatest gift

Your Son!
